About Trade The Pool

Trade The Pool started in September 2022 under Michael Katz and does one thing: fund stock traders. No forex, no gold, no indices, no crypto — only US equities, routed through Interactive Brokers and traded on TraderEvolution. In a market where nearly every firm sells the same CFD account, that focus is the entire reason to look at it. It holds on Trustpilot across reviews.

Four programs, all one step, split across two styles and two difficulty levels. Day Trade Flex targets 6% with no deadline. Day Trade Max is the same target for less money, on a 60-day clock with tighter limits. Swing Flex targets 15% with unlimited time and overnight holding, and Swing Max runs the same on 100 days. Day Trade reaches $200,000, Swing $40,000, and scaling takes allocation to $450,000.

Flex versus Max is a real decision rather than an upsell. Max is cheaper — $42.30 against $53.10 at 5K — and hands you a deadline plus a tighter leash: 1% daily and 3% max loss against Flex’s 2% and 4%, and twenty minimum positions rather than ten. Flex costs more and asks less. Neither is strictly better; it depends on whether time pressure or risk headroom hurts you more.

Three execution rules matter more here than any profit target. Every buy-sell pair needs a 30-second gap. Every winning trade must clear 10 cents per share — buy at $50.10 and you need $50.20 to bank it. And your best single position cannot make up more than 50% of the profit target on Flex, or 30% on Max during the evaluation. Fast scalping is designed out.

Day Trade accounts are fully liquidated ten minutes before the close — open positions and pending orders alike. Anything with earnings scheduled that day closes at 3:50 PM ET whichever program you are on. Swing traders hold overnight only in stocks that have averaged 500,000 shares of daily volume over the past fortnight, and never through a report.

The funded side has a mechanic that runs the opposite way to a trailing drawdown. Once you are up three times your daily pause allowance, the max loss resets to your initial account size and keeps climbing as profit builds. Most firms tighten behind you as you win; this one gives ground back.

Costs read like a broker rather than a prop firm: $0.005 per share with a $0.75 minimum per trade, which is Interactive Brokers pricing, not a spread markup. There is no leverage ratio either, just buying power scaled to the account. And there is no PDT restriction — the rule that caps day trades under $25,000 at a US retail broker does not apply.

Payouts run every 14 days once you clear $300 in profit, or $150 on a 5K account. Both Flex programs and the 20K Swing Max also want three days of 0.5% profit first. Withdrawals carry a commission — 2% on Rise and crypto, 3% on bank transfer, nothing on Hub Credits — which is worth factoring in against the flat 70% split.

Programs & Modes

Day Trade Flex

Day trading with no deadline and the most room — a 2% daily pause and 4% max loss, against a 6% target. Ten minimum positions, a 50% best-position cap, and three days of 0.5% profit before a payout. Sizes 5K through 200K, from $53.10 with code OYA8RQIU7H.

Profit Split: 70%

Target 6% | Max Loss 4% | Daily Pause 2% | Min 10 positions | Time ∞ Unlimited | Payouts 14 Days

Day Trade Max

The same 6% target for less money, and stricter for it: a 1% daily pause, 3% max loss, twenty minimum positions and 60 days to finish. No consistency rule at payout and no minimum profit days. Sizes 5K through 200K, from $42.30 with code OYA8RQIU7H.

Profit Split: 70%

Target 6% | Max Loss 3% | Daily Pause 1% | Min 20 positions | Time 60 Days | Payouts 14 Days

Swing Flex

Overnight and weekend holding with no deadline, at a 15% target under a 3% daily pause and 7% max loss. Five minimum positions, a 50% best-position cap, and stocks need 500,000 average daily volume to be held overnight. Sizes 2K through 40K, from $78.30 with code OYA8RQIU7H.

Profit Split: 70%

Target 15% | Max Loss 7% | Daily Pause 3% | Min 5 positions | Time ∞ Unlimited | Payouts 14 Days

Swing Max

The same 15% swing structure on a 100-day clock at a lower price. The best-position cap runs 30% during the evaluation and widens to 70% once funded — more generous than any other program here. Sizes 2K through 40K, from $62.10 with code OYA8RQIU7H.

Profit Split: 70%

Target 15% | Max Loss 7% | Daily Pause 3% | Min 5 positions | Time 100 Days | Payouts 14 Days

Profit Split & Payouts

Payouts run every 14 days on all four programs, once you have $300 in profit or $150 on a 5K account. Flex programs and the 20K Swing Max add one more condition: at least 0.5% profit a day across three days before the payout clears. The split is a flat 70% with no add-on to raise it — scaling grows the account instead, taking allocation to $450,000 on a 10% funded target. Withdrawals go out by bank transfer or crypto. One funded mechanic works in your favour: once you are up three times your daily pause allowance, the max loss resets to your initial account size and keeps rising with profit.

Platform & Buying Power

Trade on TraderEvolution, connected to Interactive Brokers. There is no leverage ratio here — you get buying power scaled to the account size, the way a real stock account works. Commission is $0.005 per share with a $0.75 minimum per trade, which is broker pricing rather than a spread markup. US equities only: no forex, metals, indices or crypto.

Allowed Restricted Prohibited

Free Add-Ons Allowed

Every program includes real-time market data at no cost, an optional Trading Booster, and no PDT restriction — the pattern day trader rule that limits accounts under $25,000 at a US broker does not apply here.

News Trading Allowed

No restriction on trading news. The one limit is overnight: a stock reporting after-market or in next-day premarket during earnings season cannot be held.

No Time Limit — Flex programs Allowed

Day Trade Flex and Swing Flex run unlimited time. Day Trade Max caps at 60 days and Swing Max at 100.

Overnight & Weekend Holding — Swing Allowed

Swing Flex and Swing Max hold overnight and through weekends, provided the stock has averaged at least 500,000 shares of daily volume over the last 14 days.

24/5 Trading via Blue Ocean Allowed

Switching Overnight Execution on routes you through Blue Ocean for 24/5 access, and every order type works — market, stop, stop-loss, limits and take-profit.

Consistency by Program Restricted

Day Trade Flex and Swing Flex cap the best position at 50% of the profit target, and both need 3 days of 0.5% profit or more before a payout. Day Trade Max caps at 30% during the evaluation with no consistency rule and no profit-day requirement at payout. Swing Max caps at 30% in the evaluation and 70% once funded.

Minimum Positions Restricted

Twenty positions on Day Trade Max, ten on Day Trade Flex, five on either Swing program — required before you can scale or request a payout.

30-Second Trade Duration Restricted

At least 30 seconds must pass between every buy-sell or sell-buy order. It rules out sub-minute scalping outright.

10¢ Minimum Profit Per Share Restricted

Every profitable trade has to yield at least 10 cents per share. Buy at $50.10 and you need $50.20 or better.

End of Day Liquidation — Day Trade Restricted

Ten minutes before the close, Day Trade accounts are fully liquidated — open positions and pending orders alike.

Earnings Liquidation Restricted

Any instrument with a scheduled earnings report that day is automatically liquidated at 3:50 PM ET.

Halt Restrictions Restricted

No trading on an effectively halted symbol, earnings halts included. Once a halt lifts, wait at least a minute before placing opening trades.

Order Types Outside Regular Hours Restricted

With Overnight Execution off, trades route through Nasdaq and only limit orders work — buy limit, sell limit, stop limit and take-profit. Market, stop and stop-loss orders are blocked. Switch Overnight Execution on and Blue Ocean handles every order type.

Buffer Rule — Funded Restricted

Once you are up 3x the daily pause allowance, the max loss resets to your initial account size. The buffer keeps rising as profits build.

Volatility Restriction Restricted

An opening or adding trade cannot exceed 5% of the volume traded in that instrument’s previous one-minute candle.

Copy Trading Restricted

Two accounts maximum, executed manually — external or automated third-party copy tools are prohibited. Accounts pair by size: Day Trade $5K, $25K and $50K, where $50K pairs only with one $25K or one $5K, and Swing $2K and $10K. TraderEvolution’s own copy feature is evaluation-only and never permitted on funded accounts, and it does not create take-profit or stop-loss orders on follower accounts.

Payout Commission Restricted

Rise and cryptocurrency withdrawals carry 2%, bank transfers 3%. Hub Credits carry none.

Inactivity Restricted

A 14-day inactivity rule applies to both Flex phases, evaluation and funded, and to funded Max accounts.

Automated Trading Prohibited

No EAs, bots or algorithmic execution. Every trade is entered by hand.

Trade The Pool Reviews & Ratings

Rated by our community & expert team

Trade The Pool is the rare prop firm that will not sell you a forex account. It funds US equities only, routed through Interactive Brokers on TraderEvolution, and has done since September 2022 under Michael Katz. Four one-step programs: Day Trade Flex and Day Trade Max for intraday, Swing Flex and Swing Max for overnight. It holds on Trustpilot from reviews. The split is a flat 70% with no add-on to raise it, and three execution rules shape every trade: a 30-second minimum between buy and sell, 10 cents of profit per share on winners, and a cap on how much of your target a single position may produce.

Deep Dive

More About Trade The Pool

Is Trade The Pool Legit?

Yes. Trade The Pool has run from Israel since September 2022 under Michael Katz and holds on Trustpilot across reviews. The strongest evidence is structural rather than reputational: orders route through Interactive Brokers, a regulated broker, not an in-house simulator. That is considerably harder to fake than a review score.

Funding stocks only is a real differentiator, not positioning. Almost every prop firm sells forex and indices CFDs. Very few will back an equity trader at all, so if you trade US stocks and want capital, the shortlist is genuinely short and this firm sits near the top of it.

The rules that will change how you trade are the execution ones, and they are worth reading before you compare prices. A 30-second minimum between buy and sell removes fast scalping. A 10-cent-per-share profit floor removes penny-wide flipping. And the best-position cap means one outsized winner cannot carry your evaluation — 50% of target on Flex, 30% on Max. None of that is hidden, but none of it is obvious from the price either.

Flex against Max deserves thought rather than defaulting to the cheaper one. Max saves you money and takes it back in risk headroom: 1% daily and 3% max loss against Flex’s 2% and 4%, twenty minimum positions instead of ten, and a deadline — 60 days on Day Trade, 100 on Swing. Flex has no clock at all. On a 5K account the gap is about eleven dollars, which is a poor reason to halve your drawdown.

Two mechanics run in the trader’s favour and are rare enough to name. The buffer rule resets your max loss to the initial account size once you are up three times the daily pause allowance, and keeps lifting it as profit builds — the opposite of a trailing drawdown. And there is no PDT restriction, so a sub-$25,000 account here is not limited to three day trades a week the way it would be at a US retail broker.

The cost to weigh is the payout commission. Rise and cryptocurrency take 2%, bank transfers 3%, and only Hub Credits are free. Against a flat 70% split with no ladder and no add-on to raise it, that is a real drag over a year of regular withdrawals, and it is the main thing to price against a CFD firm offering 80% or 90%.

Worth planning around: no automated trading of any kind, copy trading capped at two size-paired accounts with no third-party tools, and limit orders only outside regular hours unless you switch on Blue Ocean for 24/5 access. Israel appears on the restricted list despite being the firm’s home base.

Trade The Pool vs Other Forex Prop Firms

Comparing Trade The Pool to a forex firm is not quite like for like, since almost nothing else on this site funds US equities. The questions are different: real broker routing and per-share commission on one side, spreads and leverage on the other.

Trade The Pool vs The5ers: The closest match in temperament — both long-established, both built for patient traders, both charging on withdrawals. The5ers scales the split from 50% toward 100% and takes 3.5% per payout; Trade The Pool holds a flat 70% and takes 2–3%. If you want equities the choice makes itself, and if you want forex it makes itself the other way.

Trade The Pool vs Darwinex Zero: Two firms that both sidestep the standard CFD challenge. Darwinex Zero drops the evaluation altogether — you build a track record and earn allocation, paid quarterly, on whatever you already trade. Trade The Pool keeps a one-step evaluation but routes real orders to Interactive Brokers at per-share pricing, on US equities alone. Neither is selling you a simulator; the difference is whether you want to be measured or funded.

Trade The Pool vs FundedElite: Opposite ends of the choice spectrum. FundedElite spreads eight programs and sells the rules themselves as add-ons, so leverage, scalping and the consistency rule each carry a price. Trade The Pool offers four fixed programs on a flat 70% split with no add-on to raise it — and no leverage ratio at all, just buying power. What it gives back is a max loss that resets upward as you profit, rather than trailing behind you.

Trade The Pool Frequently Asked Questions

What does Trade The Pool fund?

US stocks only, routed through Interactive Brokers and traded on TraderEvolution. There is no forex, gold, crypto or indices. It is one of very few prop firms that will back an equity trader rather than selling CFDs.

What programs does Trade The Pool offer?

Four, all one-step. Day Trade Flex targets 6% with no deadline, a 2% daily pause and 4% max loss. Day Trade Max is the same target for less money on a 60-day clock, with a tighter 1% daily pause and 3% max loss. Swing Flex targets 15% with unlimited time, and Swing Max runs the same on 100 days. Day Trade reaches $200,000 and Swing $40,000.

What is the difference between Flex and Max?

Max is cheaper and stricter. On Day Trade you get 1% daily and 3% max loss against Flex's 2% and 4%, twenty minimum positions instead of ten, and a 60-day deadline where Flex has none. Swing Max runs 100 days against Swing Flex's unlimited. Flex also carries a 50% best-position cap where Max uses 30% during the evaluation.

What profit split does Trade The Pool pay?

A flat 70% on all four programs, with no add-on to raise it. Scaling grows the account rather than the split, taking allocation as far as $450,000 on a 10% validated target.

How much does a Trade The Pool account cost?

From $42.30 for a $5,000 Day Trade Max with code OYA8RQIU7H, which takes 10% off. A $200,000 Day Trade Flex runs $1,327.50 and a $40,000 Swing Flex $1,116.

What is the 30-second rule?

At least 30 seconds must pass between every buy-sell or sell-buy order. Together with the requirement that every profitable trade clears 10 cents per share, it rules out sub-minute scalping and penny-wide flipping.

What is the best position cap?

A consistency rule expressed per position rather than per day. Day Trade Flex and Swing Flex cap your best position at 50% of the profit target. Day Trade Max caps it at 30% during the evaluation. Swing Max runs 30% in the evaluation and widens to 70% once funded.

How fast does Trade The Pool pay out?

Every 14 days, once you have $300 in profit or $150 on a 5K account. Both Flex programs and the 20K Swing Max also need three days of 0.5% profit or more. Withdrawals carry a commission: 2% on Rise and crypto, 3% on bank transfer, and nothing on Hub Credits.

Does Trade The Pool have a PDT restriction?

No. The pattern day trader rule that limits accounts under $25,000 to three day trades in five business days at a US retail broker does not apply here. Real-time market data is also included free, and the Trading Booster is optional.

Can I hold stocks overnight at Trade The Pool?

On the Swing programs, provided the stock has averaged at least 500,000 shares of daily volume over the last 14 days. Stocks reporting earnings after-market or in next-day premarket cannot be held. Day Trade accounts are fully liquidated ten minutes before the close, positions and pending orders alike.

What commission does Trade The Pool charge?

$0.005 per share with a $0.75 minimum per trade — Interactive Brokers pricing rather than a spread markup. There is no leverage ratio; you receive buying power scaled to the account size.

What is the buffer rule?

A funded-account mechanic that works in your favour. Once you are up three times your daily pause allowance, the max loss resets to your initial account size and keeps rising as profits build. It is the opposite of a trailing drawdown, which tightens behind you as you win.

Is automated trading allowed at Trade The Pool?

No. There are no EAs, bots or algorithmic execution of any kind — every trade is entered manually. Copy trading is allowed across a maximum of two size-paired accounts, manually only, and TraderEvolution's own copy feature works on evaluation accounts but never on funded ones.
