How much does a crypto prop firm actually cost?

A $100,000 crypto account costs $129 to $570 across the firms we track, with the middle of the field near $410. Some crypto firms return the fee with your first payout, which can make a pricier account the cheaper one in the end. Price alone also hides the drawdown type, the split and any consistency rule, so put the real cost side by side in the comparison tool.

How we pick them

This is a shortlist, not a formula. We do not score the 8 crypto firms in our directory and publish the top 3 — the selection is editorial, and it comes down to three things.

  1. What traders actually report. Crypto has seen more firms close than any other market, so community reports about getting paid carry the most weight here.
  2. TrustPilot ratings and volume. Not the headline score alone — we read what recent reviews say about withdrawals and how many there are.
  3. Payout track record. Whether the firm has paid consistently over time, checked against our on-chain payout tracker where the firm pays through Rise.

A firm comes off this list if traders start reporting withheld payouts or it introduces predatory rule changes. The ones that already went are listed under firms that shut down and delisted firms. We earn affiliate commission when you buy through our links, and it plays no part in who makes this page.

Exchange perps or broker CFDs?

Crypto firms trade in one of two ways, and it shapes almost everything else on the card.

Drawdown in a market that never closes

A static limit is fixed to your starting balance and never moves. A trailing limit follows your profit up and never comes back down, so a strong run followed by a pullback can breach it. With crypto’s swings, that difference matters more than in any other market.

The trap

Crypto trades all weekend, so the time a firm resets its daily loss limit decides how much movement one “day” can hold. Check the reset time on the review before you hold a position overnight.

Of the crypto firms we track, 7 offer at least one static program and 4 offer an end-of-day trailing option. Our drawdown types guide walks through each with examples.

Consistency rules

A consistency rule caps how much of your profit may come from a single day or trade. 4 of the crypto firms we track apply one on at least one program, usually only during the evaluation. Model your own numbers in the consistency calculator, or see firms with no consistency rule.

Platforms and what you can trade

The most common platforms across the crypto directory:

MT54 firms
Match Trader3 firms
Bybit2 firms
cTrader2 firms
DXtrade2 firms
BloFin1 firm

Most firms cover Bitcoin, Ethereum and the major altcoins, and exchange-based firms add hundreds of smaller pairs. Leverage is usually higher on BTC and ETH than on altcoins, and perpetual contracts carry a funding rate that adds to or takes from your P&L on positions you hold.

Before you buy a challenge

Most traders fail evaluations for reasons that have nothing to do with the firm. Read how to pass a challenge and set your risk with the risk management guide first. When you are ready, check current crypto deals before paying full price, and use the find your firm quiz if you are still choosing.

Crypto prop firm FAQs

The questions traders ask most before buying their first crypto challenge.

Which crypto prop firm is best in 2026?

There is no single best firm — it depends on where you want to trade and how you get paid. Our 3 picks each lead in a different situation, and the cards above show their live prices, splits and rules. To rank on the numbers instead, use the comparison tool.

How did you choose these firms?

It is an editorial shortlist, not a calculated ranking. We weigh what traders in our community report about getting paid, TrustPilot ratings read alongside review volume, and each firm’s payout track record. Affiliate commission plays no part.

How much does a crypto prop firm challenge cost?

For a $100,000 account the field runs $129 to $570, with the middle near $410. Smaller accounts start at $14.00. Check whether the fee comes back with your first payout, and look at current deals first.

Do crypto prop firms actually pay out?

The established ones do, but crypto has had more firms close than forex or futures. Check recent reviews about withdrawals, look the firm up on our on-chain payout tracker, and start with a small account.

What profit split do crypto prop firms offer?

Most start at 80%, and the highest split we track is 90%. Higher figures are usually a paid add-on or unlocked by scaling, so read the conditions. See firms with the highest profit split.

How much leverage do crypto prop firms give?

Firms that offer crypto as CFDs usually cap it around 1:2 to 1:5. Firms that trade perpetual futures on an exchange let you set your own, often up to 1:100 or more on BTC and ETH. More leverage makes the daily loss limit easier to hit, so size by the limit.

What platforms do crypto prop firms use?

MT5, followed by Match Trader, DXtrade and cTrader. Broker-style firms run MT5, cTrader, TradeLocker or DXtrade, while exchange-based firms put you on Bybit, BloFin or their own terminal.

Can I trade crypto on weekends?

Yes, at most crypto firms. The market never closes, but each firm sets its own daily loss reset and any weekend conditions, so read the rules on the review before you hold a position over the weekend.

What is the difference between static and trailing drawdown?

A static drawdown fixes your maximum loss at the starting balance and never moves. A trailing drawdown follows your balance up and never comes back down, so it can be tighter than it looks. Detail in drawdown types explained.

Are the prices and rules on this page up to date?

Yes. Every price, rule and program on the cards is read from our individual review pages and rebuilds automatically whenever one of them changes. TrustPilot ratings update live.
